5 Tips for Clearer Skin: Tricks and Hacks

Friday 30 January 2015

Let's face it, we all worry about our skin. A new spot is brewing, and what do I do? How can I prevent others from saying hello? But don't fret, I have all your questions answered right here.

Moisturise More
It sounds obvious, but can make a huge difference. Your skin needs moisture, and it will lack if it's not given some. As the seasons change, so does your makeup routine, but the amount of moisturiser you use should not. Take advantage of about the only makeup product that looks good when you slap it on!

Hydrate Yourself
Yes, you've heard it one thousand times but I'm about to tell you again. Water does not only keep the skin youthful, but makes you feel energized as well. If your having serious skin problems, not drinking enough fluids may be the problem you've been dismissing.

Find The Right Products For You
It may take a few weeks, it may take 4 years. But eventually you'll find the right products that you'll keep placing on the shop counter. Also, don't be afraid to explore. It may be the cheapest product in a high-street store that just works. I know that the Garnier Moisturiser was a tiny sum of 3.99, but I swear by it.

Exercise!
This is such an important thing to do. By increasing blood flow, exercise can nourish skin cells and keep them vital. It just generally gets your blood pumping. Exercise is one of the best things you can do to your skin.

Don't Stress
Easier said than done I know, but it's seriously something to consider. Don't keep stressing about stupid homework assignments and focus on the positive. It will make you happier and your skin will benefit, what more could you ask for!

That's it for todays post! If you liked it I would appreciate it if you could give it a comment and a like on bloglovin! (widget on sidebar) and of course if you'd like to see future posts, a follow.

Thankyou so much for reading,

Leibster Awards: Discover New Blogs

Saturday 24 January 2015

Just an update, my uploading schedule is every Mon, Thurs, and Sat but days may differ depending on how busy I am. Anyway, I was nominated by the gorgeous Jessica Bird to do the Leibster awards, so here we go! I also broke a few rules (sorry!)

 RULES

1. Thank and link the person who nominated you.
2. Answer the questions given by the nominator.
3. Nominate 11 other bloggers (who have less than 200 followers) and link them.
4. Create 11 new questions for the nominees to answer.
5. Notify all nominees via social media/blogs.

 QUESTIONS FROM JESSICA BIRD

1) What is your guilty pleasure?
Being addicted to YouTube. I literally refresh my feed every single night. Joe Sugg has got me addicted to his The Last Of Us series, it is sooo good!

2) How would your friends describe you?
Probably crazy and annoying! Haha and I would agree.

3)  What's 10 things that make you happy?
  • Dogs.
  • Animals in general.

  • When I receive good news.

Favourite Quote?
“You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there's still going to be somebody who hates peaches.”

As sort of an escape I guess. I love how I can just sit down, grab my laptop and write. I also wanted to express my love for fashion and beauty. I just love it<3

5) What is your favourite word?
I literally don't even have one. I discover new words every day so I couldn't pick!

6) Where do you want to travel the most?
Everywhere! But mainly sunny places, I don't think I could handle places that snow everyday.

7) Where do you get your blogging inspiration from?
No one really. I sort of just get ideas out of the blue and then make a mental note.

8) What is your favourite quote?
Again I have loads! But I like the one that goes,
"you could be the ripest, juicest peach out there, but there will still be someone who hates peaches" (or something like that aha)
I need to remember this quote more often!

I have several. For boys, Josh Hutcherson, Joe Sugg and Zac Efron! For girls, Jennifer Lawrence (if you hadn't of guessed).

10) What is your favourite lip product?
I love MAC lipsticks! I don't have a favourite as I'm quite young and don't earn my own money, because they are so expensive mine are kinda precious to me haha.

11) What is your goal for 2015?
To get Healthy! Okay, I failed in February (I'm writing this eating a chocolate bar) but I have signed up to the gym and hope to continue with that. It's also to grow my audience on here. I'm working hard and I hope you guys can notice!

Your Winter Style Guide

Wednesday 21 January 2015

We are in the midst of winter, and I know that at this time most people are fed up of keeping up with the trends and just want to keep warm. I must admit to doing this. But what if I told you that you can look fab and still keep warm? In this style guide I've done my research and put together a little style guide for you lazy fashionista's (like me).

First things first (queue Iggy A), is of course jumpers. I know I have a sparse collection of about 4 jumpers, that I just keep wearing in an ongoing cycle. Now this is where you need to pull out your summery blouses. Try to match your colours, as we all know clashing colours just bring down the whole outfit. If you have an understated, cute necklace add that under your blouse for a dainty touch.

My feet are cold and I want to wear my warm socks, but they wont go with my boots!
Don't worry, everyone faces this problem. I know it's hard to swap your old, holey socks but I can make it a little easier. Places like Primark and Topshop sell the cutest of socks, with little frill detail and pretty colours. Add them to your boots, and you have a frill accent peeping over your favourite pair of boots, perfect!

And finally for coats. Yes, it's tempting to throw on your old coat from 4 years ago but their are so many cuter options out there for very little money. For example, I purchased a yellow long coat from Primark a few days ago for only £10! You could also through in the big seasons trend, blanket cloaks. You can see me styling mine in my Perfect Winter Outfit On Budget post.

(all picture sources from pinterest)

As always, thanks for reading and I hope you found this helpful! If you did, it would make me smile if you left a comment or a like.

Ideal Full Makeup Look For Teens

Monday 19 January 2015
My Go To Makeup Products

So as promised on my The Perfect Winter Outfit On Budget post, I am going to post my favourite Make Up products. This post is mainly aimed at teen skin, and most of these products are drugstore so they are (in my opinion) quite cheap. Also, the title states that this is a "Full Make-up Look" and that is true for me as I don't personally wear foundation, but of course this may be a different case for other people.

Mac Lipstick in the shade Brick O La

Lets start this post with possibly my favourite product from this post, my first ever Mac Lipstick I have purchased. It is in the shade "Brick O La", a moderately dark colour that you could get away with at school if blended. This lipstick is a little pricey, (as everyone probably expects from Mac) but personally I think it is worth it.
You can buy the lipstick HERE

Queen Attitude: Mascara Volume by Bourjois

This mascara just works for me. It creates no clumps, hardly any pesky fallouts, and no horrible spider lashes. I forgot to take picture of the brush, but it has tiny fibre brushes on it that curl your lashes upward and separate every one. I originally bought this as a substitute for the They're Real! Mascara by Benefit as I find it quite pricey, but it ended up staying. I am also a hugggeee fan of Bourjois products anyway, and this certainly lived up to its name.
You can purchase this Mascara by clicking HERE

Moister Match Light Softening Cream (Moisturiser) from Garnier

Once again, this product was bought as a cheaper substitute for a more expensive moisturiser (a Lush one to be exact) but yet again it ended up staying. When I wake up in the early morning I generally look forward to putting this on my face as it rejuvenates my skin so much. It is also a perfect base for concealer, as it helps it blend so much.
You can purchase this moisturiser HERE

Work The Colour Lip Butter in Perfect Plum by Collection

Try and say that six times fast! As mentioned a couple posts ago, I love this lip butter! It is very pigmented, and a perfect berry colour for the cold winter months to darken up your look. I don't usually wear this colour for school, but it is my go to weekend colour.
You can buy this lip butter HERE

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

I'm not going to say much about this, as I have a full review HERE, but I find this great for under the eyes and any redness or scarring. If you are wondering, I am the shade Classic Beige.
You can purchase this concealer HERE

Cath Kidston Lip Balm

Ever since Cath Kidston first opened, I was a huge fan. So when she came out with these Lip Products I had to buy them. To be honest, they are basically Vaseline in a different container, but better. As you can see mine is very battered and used! The scent is beautiful, a floral, girly scent and they leave my lips feeling and looking great.
You can buy the balm's HERE

Models Own Nail Colour in Pink Punch

Quite self explanatory, but when I went to the Clothes Show Live there was a stall full of their products and this one just appealed to me so much! Although it is quite summery, I like to wear this colour on my toes to make them stand out. This is a matte colour, I was unaware at the time of purchase but I just top it with their 5-in-1 top coat. Perfect!
You can buy this nail polish HERE

There you have it, all my favourite Beauty Products at the moment. That took me forever to write haha! If you liked it, (or didn't) leave a comment below and I will try and reply to every single one:)

Thoughtful Thursday: A Post To Make You Think

Thursday 15 January 2015

This post is mainly based off this quote I found on Tumblr. I know it's not Beauty, Fashion or DIY related, but I just really wanted to say something. Recently at school, I have been not really myself, and I am not enjoying certain things like I used to. I have had so many arguments with friends that I used to be really good friends with, and I often get left out of things (I'm pretty sure everyone can relate to that). But this quote made me think, and often stupid soppy quotes I will just scroll past and ignore.

Recently, I have been saying yes to more things and it's made me a lot happier. Before you (like past Eva) think immediately "No!", think again. Imagine all the things you can achieve by saying no. And then by saying yes. Instead of sitting in silence, (this sounds so cringe and cliché) make yourself be the main focus. I'm pretty sure everyone who's reading this blogpost (which is probably not a lot, but hopefully I can at least help someone!) has a great personality, but just prefers to keep their self to their self. Well don't. You may never, ever get the opportunity again to make yourself be heard at that moment in time.

If you've had arguments with people forgive and forget, or at least one of the two. And finally, try and enjoy yourself whenever you can. But remember, it's always okay to not be happy all of the time.

I know you've probably heard all this before. I had, but instead of just scrolling past it's helpful to just read something that could potentially boost your happiness.

I hope again that this message reached someone out there and helped them in some way.

The Biggest Predicted Trends of 2015

Tuesday 13 January 2015
What Will You Be Purchasing in 2015?

Another year is over, which means of course, another wardrobe is due. I know that a lot of people are wondering what weird and wonderful fashion trends will hit 2015. If this is you, then you've clicked on the right blog, as I will be picking out the biggest trends set to takeover 2015 and writing them all
down below.

If you haven't guessed already, black is back and is certainly staying all year round. From your typical black boots to toasty black sweaters, all high-street brands will (without a doubt) be stocking all the black you desire.

Maybe not something the typical teenager will be purchasing, but certainly a breakthrough for celebrities. The little white dress. As seen on Jennifer Lawrence at the premier for Hunger Games: Mockingjay pt 1 last year, is seems that yet again Jennifer will be rocking the white in 2015. Maybe other celebs will try this look this year, but (truthfully) Jlaw will truly be the queen of White Dresses.

Anyone who thought the Kimono was a thing of 2014 was completely wrong. Kimonos are breaking through to the New Year. No-one can say this is a bad thing, as Kimonos keep you warm and are super stylish!

As for colours, these seem to be the mains. As you can tell, all these colours are very vibrant. Maybe if you just had a statement accessory (one of the colours above) it would look better than a full tangerine outfit. I know I'm defiantly not brave enough to wear these colours out.
What colour jewellery will be a statement in 2015? The answer to this popular question in my opinion is gold, a extremely popular colour. Rings seem to be the new thing, will shops like Accessorize stocking up in new design and patterned rings. It also should make a breakout in clothes as well, with many tops and jeans embellished with gold zip accents and gold floral design. A prime example of this is Cara Delevingne rocking her rose gold dress.

I know this was a shortish post, but as of now there aren't that many noticeable trends. As I start to notice more trends, I will update this post, so make sure to keep checking for updates!

I also took some nice scenic photos, so I added them too. Enjoy! x

By The Seaside Is Where You Should Be

Thursday 8 January 2015
Beach Walks

I know I sound like Penny from Girl Online, but I love walks on the beach. It's just the cold air on your face and the way my dog loves to sprint in the foot-print filled sand that makes it enjoyable. Today I went to my local beach to walk my new puppy, and also to see a boat that had tipped on its side overnight! I snapped a few cute photos and thought I'd share them with you.

The boat that was tipped on it's side! (everyone was taking photos of this and it was quite far away, sorry for bad quality!)

So that's all the best photo's I took today! Let me know if you liked this post, and if you'd like to see more photography. Also, I'd love it if you could give me feedback in the comment again (good or bad as there is always room for improvement) Thanks for reading<3

Is Rimmel's Wake Me Up Concealer really that good?

Monday 5 January 2015
Hi!

I'd just like to start by saying to everyone that has gone back to school today (including me) goodluck! Try your hardest this year:)

So today's post is a review on the extremely popular Rimmel: Wake Me Up Concealer. So as most beauty guru's rave about this, such as Zoella and Miss Glamorazzi, I decided to try it and see if it generally worked for my skin type and tone.

As you can see from the Image above, this concealer has that type of applicator brush (I don't know what it's called, sorry!) I find these the easiest to use, as you don't have to really rub the product on your face (like stick concealers).

It really isn't hard to find your skin tone with this concealer, although Rimmel do not (from what I know) carry dark skin tones. When I went into the shop to buy the product, however, there was only two shades to pick from, which I thought was very poor as these two shades were very light.

And now onto the application. I personally thought that this concealer provides amazing under eye coverage, if you apply a considerate amount of product. It also is great for redness and places such as the nose and chin. However, I would not recommend this product for covering up acne and spots. I have tried on several occasions to cover up spots with this product but it simply either slips straight off or just doesn't give the coverage it should do. When I apply it undereye it stays all day, but this is not the case for spots. Usually I end up applying powder over acne, or using my stick concealer by Barry M. I have to mention that it is crucial you get a good match for your skin otherwise your under eyes are going to be a different colour to your whole face, and you don't want that.

Overall, this is a pretty good concealer, as long as you are not looking to buy it for acne. Thankyou for reading, and it would mean a lot if you could follow. It only takes a millisecond to hit the button<3

Byeeee,
Eva xxx
